About me
From my earliest memories, technology has always been a part of my life. Growing up in the 90s, I was introduced to computers by my parents. My mum sparked my interest in coding by teaching me Visual Basic at a young age, and my dad showed me the inner workings of operating systems and how emails were sent. By the age of 5, I was already experimenting with VB, laying the foundation for my technical journey. I didn’t stop there, throughout the 2000s, I taught myself HTML by exploring tools like Microsoft FrontPage, creating websites simply for the joy of learning how they worked.
During high school, I gravitated toward subjects that merged my technical interests and analytical thinking, Computer Science and Business Management. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma provided me with a well-rounded education, but it was the fusion of these two subjects that really captured my interest. I found myself excited about how technology could solve business challenges, and I knew I wanted to pursue this passion further.
A Blend of Technology and Business: At university, I pursued a double major in Computer Science and Business Information Systems, setting the stage for my career at the intersection of tech and business. The technical rigor of Computer Science honed my problem-solving skills, while Business Information Systems gave me a practical understanding of how technology drives business success. This combination was crucial in preparing me for a career where both creativity and technical knowledge are essential.
My journey into web development began in the early 2010s, where I started working with WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. Each platform taught me valuable lessons about content management systems (CMS) and web development as a whole. By the late 2010s, my focus shifted to WordPress, where I refined my skills and specialized in creating dynamic websites tailored to client needs. My passion for understanding the inner workings of technology pushed me to constantly experiment, learn, and implement new solutions to achieve the best results.
I’ve always been someone who thrives on understanding how things work. Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in reading about the algorithms behind Alphabet (Google/YouTube) and Meta (Facebook/Instagram). I find satisfaction in identifying patterns and leveraging them to optimize websites and digital content. My process is rooted in data-driven decision-making, whether it’s enhancing SEO, boosting user engagement, or improving overall performance. This analytical approach is integral to how I build, refine, and optimize websites.
While I have a strong technical foundation, my creative side has always been just as important to me. To deepen my creative skills, I took a photography course, which gave me a more structured understanding of the art. In addition to photography, I’ve developed skills in photo editing, video editing, and graphic design. These creative outlets allow me to bring a unique perspective to my web development work, ensuring that every project is not only functional but also visually compelling. This philosophy extends to my work in 3D modeling and design, focusing on creating functional and realistic designs that not only look great but also serve a purpose.
While many designers focus on aesthetics alone, I believe that the true power of design comes from marrying creativity with functionality. It’s not just about how something looks, but about how it works and serves the user. I approach every project with a holistic mindset, striving to balance visual appeal with practical, user-centered design. By blending intuitive design principles with real-world functionality, I ensure that every project is both visually engaging and capable of solving the problems it was meant to address. This balance between the two sides is what drives my work.
